Organic Farm Trip

As soon as school is out for the summer, a group of IGSSs students will travel to Kent, Michigan to work at

Earthkeeper Farm!

They  grow about 7 acres of Stellar Certified Organic vegetables, fruits, and flowers which are sold at the local Farmer's Market, through our CSA, and to local restaurants.

Everything on the farm is grown using organic and biodynamic practices. The  farm respects the environment, with a focus on rebuilding top soil and preserving biodiversity. This season they  are growing over 60 different crops with over 150 different varieties.

The farm hosts us through WWOOF, Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms. In this program, we will work in the fields in exchange for room, board, and education. We will also sell vegetables at a local farmer's market.

Read more about Earthkeeper Farm.  The composting toilet should be interesting.  IGGSers are geared up for this fun trip.
